Our official policy on Windows release support is that we support:
- Windows 11 22H2 or later
- Windows 10 21H2
✅ Windows 11 has native support for:
- USB4 and Thunderbolt 3/4 protocols
- Updated ACPI and PCIe tunneling drivers
- Improved Thunderbolt security and authorization layers
Windows 10 especially pre–21H2 builds, lacks some of these enhancements. Even with the same hardware, the OS may:
- Misidentify the Thunderbolt device
- Fail to authorize it correctly
- Use outdated drivers or firmware interfaces
